February 2010
So far this year for Giavanna has been all about talking, learning and drawing. Giavanna has become GiGi and her favorite thing to do lately is sliding at the park. Luckily we have about 10 parks almost within walking distance. The other day Ron told me she was singing her ABC's and low and behold, he was right. She loves to sing her ABC's with a huge grin on her face and then clap when she is done. She is saying sentences now and loves to talk on the phone. She is a helper and a doer. She takes time to notice everything around her and hates a dirty floor. If I clap and laugh at something with her, she looks at how I am holding my hands or how I am sitting and she does the same thing, the same way. She looks up to me but her Daddy is the one who holds her heart in his pocket. These are the days the Lord has made!
Having moved into a house with a yard, she is constantly wanting to go walk. We have a field across the street where the local elementary school kids practice soccer so she loves to go and watch. We have gotten a ton of snow, and whether she will remember it or not, it has been something her dad and I will not soon forget. Church has finally become fun for her so leaving her in the nursery is no longer a battle. Her baby sitter, Jalea, spends every Monday morning with her so I can volunteer and every other Wednesday evening so Ron and I can host a bible study from our home. We have been given a great deal of love and blessings from the Lord and are so grateful.
We recently decided for Giavanna to stay in her bed at night and to sleep through the night without coming into our bed. With a lot of affirmation and support from my local Legacy Moms group, we are all well on our way to experiencing sleep filled nights and well rested days!
Life as a mom has taught me to slow down and appreciate the things around me. Life as a wife has taught me to love and think of others. These two wonderful people that I share my life with have made my life into something truly special.
